3/25

Today in class we took a test on Ancient Greece. I felt pretty comfortable but I hope that I did well because I have a D in mr. Schick's class and I can't have it go down to a F. Draco really was a horrible person when it came to punishment but he did make it the same for rich and poor people. Riley and I have to work on our project for his class too. It's 200 points so its a pretty big chunk of our 4th quarter grade. As long as we do decent on it, it should be a good quarter.

Today in class we did some review for the test on Monday. We finished the powerpoint on Ancient Greece and took some more notes. Once we finished that, he went over the whole thing again and pointed out all the test questions. He said that there will be about 33 questions which isn't that bad if I do say so myself. I feel very comfortable with this test. hopefully it will boost my grade in his class too. Zeus is dope, he is basically the alpha for all greek gods and goddesses. He gave birth to Athena through his forehead and she cam out in full armor too. That must really have hurt lol. He showed us some funny cartoons at the end of class too while I was writing my blog. Riley left before class started as well.

Today in class we started working on our project. Riley and I started working on our powerpoint where we added pictures/backgrounds for our slides. We are doing ancient greek food and we have to make the food too and take pictures. Riley and I are going to meet up and make this food and then dress up like ancient greeks and put on a great show for our class. Demetri and Evan keep making fun of us because were having a rivalry with this project. Mr. Schick shaved his face too which is pretty cool.

Today in class I came in about 16 minutes late. I really need to learn how to wake up to my alarm. It may help. We went over some new material for Greece and took a bunch of notes. We learned about some of the rulers and the time periods they ruled for. We also learned the laws they made and destroyed while on their rise to power. There was this law that Draco had that was called slave debt. If someone owed money to you and couldn't pay it off, you could keep them as a slave and make them work off their debt. Solon's reform made that illegal once he started to rule. Most laws were punishable by death even if it was minor.

Today in class we went over more of Ancient Greek and some of their stories with mythological creatures. We talked about if Homer was actually a real person or if he was just a made up character/ god to symbolize something. We talked about how Poseidon kept knocking the mans of course and it took him 10 years to get back to his family. And also how he fought the giant cyclops to save his men and get off that horrible island and risk being eaten. We went over the different types of government that the world uses and how Greece was a monarchy. America is technically a Republic which is dope. Mr. Schick also got a little pist off because some kids wouldn't shut there mouth during class. Other than that, its monday and I really want to go home.

Today in class we looked over a power point. We are starting ancient Greece now which is sick. Greece is 75% mountains and is also a peninsula meaning daily surrounded by water. It has approximately 2000 islands in the kingdom of Ancient Greece. Athens and Sparta are two of the most well known "city-states".  It is right in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and has the Ionian and Aegean Sea on the right and left sides. They contained many skilled sailors due to have water literally surrounding 99% of the island. It would take longer to go across the land to the other side than it would to sail all the way around to the other side because of all the mountains. They have good metal workers too even though they didn't have a lot of resources for metal. Greece struggled with natural resources.
