Today in class we looked over a power point. We are starting ancient Greece now which is sick. Greece is 75% mountains and is also a peninsula meaning daily surrounded by water. It has approximately 2000 islands in the kingdom of Ancient Greece. Athens and Sparta are two of the most well known "city-states".  It is right in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and has the Ionian and Aegean Sea on the right and left sides. They contained many skilled sailors due to have water literally surrounding 99% of the island. It would take longer to go across the land to the other side than it would to sail all the way around to the other side because of all the mountains. They have good metal workers too even though they didn't have a lot of resources for metal. Greece struggled with natural resources.

Today in class we finished up the video we were watching. After the video was over we talked about if it is necessarily bad that they haven't caught up with the rest of the world with technology and resources and opportunity etc.  We wrote down some notes regarding what they have with clothes and tools they use. Nothing originated there so they had to have impostor traded for some of it. The coast lines actually are trying to modernize though and catch up with the 21st century.

Today in class we went over more of Ancient Greek and some of their stories with mythological creatures. We talked about if Homer was actually a real person or if he was just a made up character/ god to symbolize something. We talked about how Poseidon kept knocking the mans of course and it took him 10 years to get back to his family. And also how he fought the giant cyclops to save his men and get off that horrible island and risk being eaten. We went over the different types of government that the world uses and how Greece was a monarchy. America is technically a Republic which is dope. Mr. Schick also got a little pist off because some kids wouldn't shut there mouth during class. Other than that, its monday and I really want to go home.

jack blog 1/28/19

Today in class I had to catch up since I was absent on Friday. I missed 30 minutes of the video the class watched. It was about the domestication of animals and which species can work on farms and help with agriculture as a whole. There are over 2 million species in the world and only 14 of them have been proven that they can work with the planting and plowing and agriculture. Most of the animals are not native to the parts of the world they are most used. Most are native to Europe and some parts of Africa. Demetri helped me catch up on some of the things that I missed on Friday with the characters and their jobs and ideas.
